Explore Ukulele Classes at The Music Room
Ukuleles have seen a revival and we know why. This instrument is easy to play, affordable and fun. You can get a beginner’s ukulele for less than $100. Eddie Vetter won a Grammy award for his Ukulele Songs album in 2011 and the pop group Twenty One Pilots has inspired a younger generation to play. George Harrison of the Beatles once said “Everybody should have and play a uke. It’s so simple to carry with you and it is one instrument you can’t play and not laugh! ”
Experience the joy of ukulele for yourself by joining one of the group ukulele classes at The Music Room. “The Ukulele 1 class is for beginners, so everyone is starting from square one,” said instructor Bob Thompson. “Joining a group class is a great way to try out the instrument. It can be less intimidating than one-on-one lessons.”
In just a few one-hour sessions, and with some home practice, you will be strumming simple songs at a slower tempo. Classes run for 10 weeks.
The Ukulele 2 class covers additional chords, discussion of key signatures and intermediate rhythmic notation, and group playing with melody and accompaniment. Learn more about our ukulele classes and schedule. Spring classes start the week of April 3.
